Shangri-La

31 05 2009

There are several reasons for me to post this new Gonzo anime OP, so I’ll list them bellow.

It’s a dystopic anime, the character design is from none other than Range Murata, script supervisor Hiroshi Ohnogi worked in Noein among others!
Having Range Murata as character design is reason enough though. 😛 If you don’t know him, search for Serial Experiments Lain and Robot Comics. 😀

Studio 4C – First Squad

30 05 2009

Yeah, I know, WWII again?
But hey, it’s Studio 4C!!! If Studio 4C made a mexican soap opera, I’d watch it, if you know what I mean…

Tachikoma Transportation Module

24 05 2009

It’s a little bit different from Tachikoma (Ghost in the Shell), but yeah, close enough.

Like a prototype Tachikoma, which is awesome enough!
The video and “vehicle” were taken on a 2006 Wonfes!

Izumi Konata no Yuutsu

21 05 2009

A while ago, I made a post with several Haruhi and Lucky Star videos… but this one tops them all:

Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu opening with Lucky Star characters worked to perfection!

I always forget to post the anime list for the season…

Summer 2009

Summer 2009

…but not this time!
Yep, lots of interesting stuff I’m probably not watching due to not having enough time.
DANG, I can’t even finish Tora Dora!, Kannagi and Index. Me is a sad panda.

Lucky Star – Kona-card!

14 05 2009

Swear to God, if I lived in Japan, this would be my next credit card:

Lucky Star Card

Lucky Star Card

This is not a Photoshop joke guys, credit cards with anime themes been around sometime now in Japan… dunno what took so long for them to use Lucky Star characters, since it’s a HUGE thing there.
Well, it’s also a big thing on this very blog, in case you didn’t notice. 😛

Taisei TV ad

12 05 2009

Yeah, I also don’t understand zilt, but if you watched any of the Makoto Shinkai works (Voices from a Distant Star, 5cm per Second, The Place Promised in Our Early Days), you’ll notice several similarities on this Taisei TV construction ad:

Seems it was not produced by Makoto himself, but maybe his production staff gave some help, maybe Taisei TV got some really competent “copiers”. xD

Office Tour – Key (NSFW)

28 04 2009

Here’s a video office tour at visual novel production studio Key:

For those who don’t know, Key is responsible to some of the most famous visual novels like Kanon, Air, Clannad and Little Busters! (first three later became Animes, and Little Busters is probably on the way too).
I was really expecting something way fancier for such a renowned company, but I guess it’s still an interesting place to work at.

Eden of the East

26 04 2009

Here’s a new anime series I’m expecting to watch soon:

Very interesting trailer!
Oh, did I mention Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex) and Chika Umino (Honey and Clover) are on the production cast?
I immediately recognized Umino’s character designs… Honey and Clover is still on my top anime best list, so…
The story is also very interesting.. check it on the Eden of the East AnimeNewsNetwork page!

Luis Vuitton / Takashi Murakami – Superflat Monogram

25 04 2009

As you probably know by now, the japanese animation culture is already permeating all sections of society.
It’s still kinda shocking to see such a “high standard” refined brand such as Luis Vuitton use such a colorful theme:

But of course, it’s not just ANY regular animation guy… Takashi Murakami is one of the most well known names in Japan when it comes to anime as art in pop culture.
Sulperflat Monogram gets the Murakami vibe very well!
