Nijikaku is the ultimate Mugen fighting game for japanese otaku!
Played it a long time ago… some months after this blog started, I remember trying to make a post about the game, but couldn’t find the info to it.
Notice it’s a game with fanmade characters, so it might have some NSFW content.

But just earlier today for some reason I remembered this japanese meme character known as Waha! (which is actually a character from a famous eroge and also symbol to a japanese image board), and with that I decided to continue searching more about it.

Nijikaku (Nijiura Kakuten) is a Mugen style game with tons of characters that are mainly known by japanese Otaku.

Waha is one of them, but you’ll find the weirdest stuff mixed… like obscure anime and eroge characters, weird sketches and memes from japanese image boards (mainly 2ch), and others.

The gameplay is kinda glitchy, which is to be expected since it’s Mugen and all, but still very good, not much for the game, but for the humor.

I’ll spare you from trying to make this thing work, here are some of the best Nijikaku moves compiled in these poor Homer bashing videos:

I had a working version on my old laptop, but I remember getting it like on a “full working pack”… it’s probably outdated, and I can’t remember where I got it. Maybe some torrent that’s probably dead now.
I tried researching a way of making it work, but couldn’t.

Basically, if you’re willing to go after this, you’ll have to:

1- Find out which Mugen version works in your PC, and if it’s compatible with the Nijikaku pack. I tried several versions… from the original DOS Mugen, to WinMugen and the high res hack, but couldn’t make Nijikaku work with it.
This is probably because while I was trying to install the whole thing I was on a Vista laptop.
2- Get the latest Nijikaku files.
For those, you’ll have to look in the official Nijikaku website for the latest version.
If you don’t read japanese like me, try either using a translator like Google Translate, or just look for some tables that has links and file sizes… Nijikaku is the largest of them, the version I got had 138Mb.
