Another meme from none other than Touhou.
Called “Yukkuri Shite Ittene!!!”
I’m still not very shure about this one, but I’ll try to explain.

It seems the meme started on 2ch (japanese image board), with an ASCII art (drawing made with text characters) of charaters Marisa Kirisame and Reimu Hakurei from Touhou.

People thought it was funny/disturbing because even though the characters where saying “Yukkuri Shite Ittene!!!” (which translates roughly to “Please take your time”), their faces said otherwise.

I’ll guess that people started using it a lot in image boards ‘till it eventually became a meme.

It’s not very common to see memes actually getting their own merchandise, since very oftenly they are obscure and only recognized by 2ch/image boards dwellers.
But this one ended up in t-shirts and plushies, which sold very well according to AkibaBlog.
