Ever dreamt you could interact with your figures?
Well, maybe not… but Geisha Tokyo Entertainment was thinking of weirdos like myself when they created Cyber Figure ARis (Dennoh Figure ARis).
UPDATE! The “virtual figure” is out, with an interesting demonstration ad… check it out at the end of the post!
In a few words, it’s a software that uses augmented reality to simulate a virtual 3D figure.
Not much beyond these images were shown, but you can get the idea… our little maid, besides being cute and animated, also responds to some kind of virtual hand.
Same augmented reality technique is used on Playstation 3 Eye.
I’m planning on doing a more extensive post about Augmente Reality and ARToolkit for some time now… but I need time to test and run the code, and make some experiences.
I believe that I’ll have the time very soon.
But that’s it folks… I loved the idea! Better than that only when technology advances enough for us to have real figures that works that way… 😛
Only hope I’m still alive to see that!

I wonder if they’ll sell those virtual gift cards too….
