Maybe you already read about professor Randy Pausch‘s story.
He died today, 25th of July, 2008, leaving a lesson behind to the whole world.
For those who didn’t hear about him, I’ll tell something about his story.
Some months ago, Randy Pausch, a professor at Carnegie Mellon University, gave what he called his “last lecture”.
The reason was because not long ago, he learned that a cancer he was fighting for some time became terminal. And he had few time left.
Instead of getting desperate, trying to rebel against it, and just doing something wrong with the time he had, he decided to come to therms with his condition, and spend the rest of the time he had passing what he knew ahead.
The theme on his last lecture was: “Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams”.
His story became known all over the world when the last lecture was published on the Internet.
Watch it:
The Last Lecture
This lecture was the inspiration to a book.
I remember watching an interview where he said that the worst part was no being able to be around to see his kids grow up (oldest one is only 6 years old). But he hoped he could reach them and leave a message through the lecture and book.
So, may he rest in peace, and condolences to wife Jai and his three kids: Dylan, Logan and Chloe.
