The Intel Reader

Ben Foss, Director of Access Technology at Intel’s Digital Health group is presenting on this video The Intel Reader, a device built to aid the visually impaired.

Was just released for sale, and sports an Atom processor, 5-megapixel camera, and Intel’s Linux-based Moblin OS, taking book pages, converting to text, and then using a voice synthesizer to read it loud via speaker or convert to MP3s.

Now, is it just me or Ben Foss looks like Jack Bauer? Cause you know, if Jack Bauer approves, everyone has to buy one of these… :P
Actually, makes perfect sense calling it The Intel Reader… :P
