This above awesome video posted by YouTube user paxshikai shows an i-SOBOT robot equiped with tons of custom weapons:
Beyond awesome! Not only the video, but all those custom fully working (at least most seems to be) weapons!
I imagine everyone who has a thing for figures and collectible toys would love having his entire collection… xD
Tokyo University has developed a new interface for cellphones… one that is kinda awkward but at least would make the cellphone less fingerprint prone.
It’s like touchscreen without the “touch”!
Still, looks hard to use for typing… and it’s another step away from giving a touch feedback with is the number one advantage of keyboards.
Could be nice for some functions though… like flipping through images and stuff.
A video displaying a realistic human head render from nVidia:
Nice eh? The interesting part – the video posting dates back to 2007! o_O
Thing is, as you probably imagine, realistic rendering doesn’t translate to game rendering… but recent games are getting close to that level of detail nowadays.
Still, it’s the same old debate: What’s the use of realistic graphics in games that aren’t fun to play.
Oh, if you wanna have some fun just go to the YouTube video page and read the comments… yet another useless discussion about PC games versus console games. pft.
Ok, you obviously heard about mice put in mazes for experiences and stuff, but you ever heard of a competition with robotic mouses in mazes?
It’s nothing new for those in robot competitions really, and years of experience and competitions lead to the amazing Tetra:
Dunno the name of this humanoid robot (because all humanoid robots must have names ) e-Nuvo was developed by researchers from Nippon Institute of Technology:
In collaboration with Harada Vehicle Design, ZMP and ZNUG Design.
It’s 126 cm tall and weighs 15 kg, uses Microsoft Robotics Developer Studio software and is being showcased in japanese schools for kids to have first hand contact with the technology!
I sense the Air Hogs Vectron Wave R/C UFO won’t be lasting long in the hands of hyperactive clumsy kids (or pets), but it’s pretty awesome so here you go:
I wonder what happens when the sensor misses that detection and goes straight to someone’s head or hand… yeaouch!
A new interactive display concept by Ivan Poupyrev, Lumen is capable of detecting and producing tactile feedbacks – better seen than explained:
As is, the concept would be interesting for a few things only (including a display for the blind, which is awesome by itself)… but if the idea evolves, think of all the possibilities!
Whether you’re a douche trying to PWN friends at a paintball match, or you’re a police officer needing backup in a dangerous situation, here’s something to take a look at:
The SWAT Bot (Robotic Weapon), created by Inspector Bots is a “Mil-Sim A5 PaintBall Gun Mounted to a fully Upgraded, Brushless, 4WD, RC Vehicle”, according to YouTube description… and it was created for Law Enforcement.
Pretty awesome… ’till a cop points that at you for no good reason that is.
