100 Game Maker Games in 10 Minutes (2009)

I guess the title explains it all. 100 games made in 2009 with GameMaker compressed in a 10 minutes video.

Hard work done by Matt Scorah of the GameMaker Blog.
If there’s any game that caught your eye there, or if you just wanna thank Matt for doing this great compilation, visit the official GameMaker Blog’s 2009- 100 Game Maker Games in 10 Minutes post!

Boss Rush (PC)

This apparent vertical shmup (shoot ‘em up) from Paper Dino Software has a very interesting new idea:

In it, you’re not the small ship frantically shooting and dodging crazy bullet sprees, but rather the boss that has to get rid of that pesky hero. xD
The game is completed but the author is currently searching for sponsors… it’ll probably be out soon!
Get more info on Boss Rush’s official website at Paper Dino Software.

Saut (Browser/PC)

Saut, by Mabi Games, is a one button game in which you have to push the button at the right time to avoid obstacles.

Looks pretty interesting. You can download the game or quickplay it on your browser at Gamejolt’s Saut webpage.

Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP (iPod/iPhone)

A teaser for an intereting upcoming game:

Not much real info there, but the game is a collaboration between Superbrothers, Jim Gutherie and Capybara Games and looks very promising indeed. :D

Saira (PC)

Long long time ago I made a post about Nifflas Games… now he’s back again with Saira:

Which looks awesome!

Deph (PC)

Dunno if Matt Simmonds was inspirde by the recent ressurection of 3D technologies for movies with Avatar… maybe not since Deph uses the old style red/cyan 3D video thing.

Anyways, Deph is a vertical shooter (schmup), and it seems 3D is part of the gameplay. Sound pretty interesting!
The game is in development, so if you wanna follow it, keep an eye on Matt’s blog – I Heart the Sound of Waves!

Tuper Tario Tros.

I already made a post sometime ago with a full Sim City x Tetris crossover.
This time it’s a full Super Mario Bros. x Tetris crossover!

Tuper Tario Tros.

Tuper Tario Tros.

And by full I mean not only a tribute, or a special theme, or a level mod… it’s more like a new game that tries to mix elements of both games!
A Super Mario Bros. in which you can switch to Tetris mode in order to complete the levels is what Swing Swing Submarine created in Tuper Tario Tros.
Check it out by clicking the image or this link to the Newgrounds page for Tuper Tario Tros.!

The Swapper (PC)

Coming from the Independent Games Festival, this is The Swapper, from… wait for it: Facepalm Games!

It’s a puzzler platformer where you are able to create clones of yourself to solve physics based puzzles.
Very interesting idea, which also has some interesting reflections like this one:
“The Swapper is about treating human beings as objects. It’s also a puzzle and a platformer. And a piece of weirdness.”
Check the game development as it goes on the official Facepalm Games blog!

Dominoze (PC)

Before computer and console puzzle games even existed, there was this (still) awesome thing called dominos! :P
With this in mind, Gamieon made this awesome physics Dominoze game:

Not only there are several different stages to play, you can also make your own.
So, it could be played just like any normal game, but it could also be used as a project board to make a real life domino stage! :D
Interested? Beta version is available at Dominoze’s official website!
