Nokia made this vision of the future for cellphones, telling us how it’ll be in 2015:
Everyone behaving like some Playstation 3 Home people, speaking heavy accented english, watching soccer with virtual friends…
Yeah, I guess the world ending in 2012 doesn’t look that bad now, does it?
…or the full long name Attack of the Zombie Bikini Babes from Outer Space!!!, from Smule.
Pretty much self explainable.
From the Gizmodo post, you’re a “redneck armed with dual slingshots, firing rocks and raccoons at undead chicks in bikinis who will claw your eyes out if they touch you”.
It’s a 99 cent game on the app store. I’d say it’s a good value for b-movie fans’ money…
Got some free time? Always wanted to have your own virtual reality googles but too poor to buy the ones available today?
Here’s how to do one for yourself:
Of course, wearing one of those in broad daylight would only get you ridiculed, punched in the face, of even involved in a tragic accident… but hey, those never stopped inventors from doing things, right?
Would you trust the controls of your minivan to an iPhone?
Well, the guys from Freie Universität Berlin would:
With the project named “Spirit of Berlin”, the iDriver is an iPhone app that makes a vehicle completely autonomous using tons of laser sensors and other tech stuff.

Imagine having a cellphone with a battery that lasts 320 hours. And that it could also be recharged in seconds.
There’s a working prototype for that already, a cellphone that uses methanol as power source!
It’s still a prototype and long way to becoming a commercial product, and it’s still kinda big if you consider the whole cellphone is smaller than the battery itself… but the technology looks promising.
It’s specially interesting if you think they could make a small portable battery recharger using the same idea.
Could solve all your battery dying problems with a simple device… and it’d be also interesting to NOT have a methanol filled brick connected right next to stuff you put on your pocket, hold close to your ear, or keep on your lap.
Ok, this title needs a little explaining.
DoCoMo, a japanese cellphone manufacturer developed earphones equipped with sensors and a system that allows the user to give simple commands to the cellphone… like skipping music and other mp3 player functions.
Very awesome technology!
For people who are disabled it could be life changing, and you can also imagine something like this being applied to other stuff, like virtual reality and games.
