Some of my favorite blogs has been publishing stuff about a giant Gundam replica/statue that was being built at Odaiba, an artificial island close to Tokyo in Japan.
Been some months from the first news about it. In what seemed an incredibly fast speed, the project has already been finished, and had it’s first few presentations:
Turns out not only the Gundam RX-78 is a very detailed replica, but it also can move it’s head, and also gives a show with steam and lights involved.

Kyon’s Sister and Cactus Dog at Curitiba’s Botanical Garden
11 02 2009I’m fortunate to be living in a city that, while isn’t as big or as famous as others like São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, it’s still a place you can find most things you want, also having a great weather IMO (colder than average), and lots of nice green parks and gardens to visit… I’m talking about Curitiba.
Every now and then I get to go to some of the tourist sites… this time I went to the Botanical Garden of Curitiba (Jardim Botânico de Curitiba). Took Kyon’s Sister and Cactus Dog along with me.

Nendoroid Miku and Teishoku
16 01 2009Late last year I found a japanese restaurant here where I live (Curitiba-Brazil) that serves traditional japanese Teishoku… which are “meal kits” that has different stuff to compose a complete meal.

Sorry for the bad pic… the restaurant was full, we got this table next to the kitchen which was in a badly lighted area… and I use a cellphone cam, so…
But anyways, the meal was very nice. Chicken didn’t look so great but it tasted ok.
I had better teishokus in other brazilian cities, but this one wasn’t bad… just not great.
It’s unusual in Brazil, though very common in Japan… in Brazil when you say “japanese restaurant” it’s usually sushi, sashimi or yakissoba.
Ever tasted japanese teishokus? Do you like them?
