How many times in TV series and movies have you seen the police, FBI, counter terrorist units, private military companies and other forensics scenarios picking up crappy surveilance cameras, cellcam footage of photos and other very bad sources, applying some pixie magic state of the art impossible software and using it to scrape out information out of nowhere?
Tons of times I’m guessing will be the answer.

Reading through Gizmodo’s (the source) comments, seems it’s common sense that one of the prime examples of the level of absurdity moviemakers reach is Enemy of the State – from director Jerry Bruckheimer – with the famed impossible 3D rotate technology. You can watch a bit of it on this trailer:
Finally, a hilarious parody on all those absurd ideas on image analysis done with computers that are done in movies since… what? Since computers became capable of analysing images I guess.. maybe even before that.
