The pl_donkeykong_final custom map for Team Fortress 2 isn’t just a half done tribute… it’s a fully functional payload map in which Mario is the cart, and the final objective point is, obviously, the top. (lower the volume and ignore the overblown sounds)
It even has mario footstep sounds!
I think the only thing this needs, though this probably goes way over the capabilities of modding, a barrel launcher for the defending team, some sort of powerful weapon to replace the hammer, and background music. 
Still, an amazing work that goes several steps above your usual tribute mod!

And used them to play (after having lots of trouble receiving calls and stuff) Comptine D’un Autre Ete: L’apres from Amélie (Le Fabuleux Destin d’Amélie Poulain) soundtrack.
Awesome! The piano sounds are truly impressive for a cellphone.
