I’ve been hearing and reading about Pandora for a long time now, so I decided to post this latest video with it’s production case.

Pandora is a portable gaming/entertainment system that’s in development for quite some time now.
Only by the video, it looks like a portable computer… which is more or less right too.
But what’s different on it is that the device was built to be an open source take on gaming systems.
Still has a long way to go, but it seems things are slowly evolving… so keep an eye!
Read more about it on the Wikipedia entry and the official Pandora website!

I’m always covering new robotic technology that aims to help people with disabilities here on the blog.
ProDigits from TouchBionics is actually a finger replacement costumized according to the owner needs:

I’d say it’s pretty interesting, but as far as technology goes, I think I’ve seen better working stuff out there.
But I can’t remember if it was commercially available.
Anyways, it’s always nice to see people working on stuff like that, so there you are.

Developed by Stanford University researchers, a battery made of paper…

…painted with a mix of carbon nanotubes and silver nanowires.
It’s supposedly not only thin and flexible, but also relatively cheap.
No word on production yet.

Samuel Cockedey has these incredible timelapse images/videos from Japan captured with his Canon 5D Mark II.
As a fan of japan videos and all forms of beautiful photography/videos, I decided to follow him up.
This one is entitled Autumn. Watch it in fullscreen!
His videos, among other stunning works from some photographers I posted before, inspires me to continue studying photography.
You can find all the credits and other relevant information on the (autumn) Vimeo page, and more on his works on Samuel Cockedey’s official website.

This dog loves some wall…

In fact, he loves it so much to leave a bone aside and keep licking it even while his owner is calling.
I can only imagine what was mixed in the paint…

Dunno if you’re like me, but since I was a kid I always dreamt of having this house filled with secret passages and stuff.
Lots of people do, I dunno exactly from where this comes from… but cartoons, detective stories and other stuff had it back then.

So it’s always nice to see projects like this one in real life!
I mean, when they are not used to commits crimes at least.
As for my dream… have long ways to go yet, it seems.

Starlings is a game by Russ Morris that I find hard to explain:
Seems the game is about create an evergrowing flock of birds, while audio and visual effects increase to create a link with the player’s emotions.
Sounds as different an idea as a game called Flower, released sometime ago.
If you’re interested, go read more about it at the author’s blog post about Starlings!

I know some cities in Japan has problems with space, but I never imagine finding a house like that…

Practically an upgraded version of the shacks we have in our brazilian slums.
Dunno which is worse: Living in that house, or living in the house bellow it.

Norris Labs is behind this bot that, as the name implies, uses a cooler as case for all the electronics and stuff used.

It’s a weatherproof, solar powered, remote controlled robot that uses an infrared cam and a dSLR cam to… are you prepared for that?
