Playing with Timelapse – 24hr Gas Station
Been half an year since I bought my first dSLR, a Canon XSi.
So, now I’m on vacation and finally gathered time and courage to play a bit with timelapse videos.

Here’s the results of my second attempt. ![]()
I love timelapse photography and videos, and always wanted to learn how to do it.
For those who are interested, I can say if you have basic photography knowledge and a dSLR camera, it’s fairly easy to do it!
I’m always posting timelapse videos on XSpBlog from talented people, as many of them are a source of inspiration and the reason why I decided to study photography more and maybe even pursuit a career, so for those learning I also recommend watching several of those videos… they have invaluable information.
Here’s the first test I made with the timelapse setup:

It’ll take a while for me to get enough money, but I hope someday to get a proper timelapse setup… Canon 5D Mark II or maybe 7D, intervalometer, a non-crappy tripod, some 3 or 4 different lens to play with and some other things.
For now, I’m only hoping I can get a nice laptop to make timelapse videos on other places other than my apartment’s window… xD
Here’s the setup I used for the 24hr Gas Station video:
Camera – Canon XSi with stock lens on a crappy tripod mount
Software – Canon EOS Utility (intervalometer), Picasa for mashing the photos to video and exporting to YouTube
Process – Taken 200 images with 5sec interval, 200 images with 20sec interval, 200 images with 10sec interval and some 20 images for the end sequence (manual focus).
Time – From about 20:30 to 23:30 to complete the entire process.
Shutter speed – 0″3
Apperture – f5.6
Sensibility – ISO 800
White Balance – set to Auto
Music: Röyksopp – Only This Moment
Let’s see… I guess that’s all I had to say about it.
