Sony showed recently two prototype 3D displays that are cilindrical and can be viewed from all angles:

Videos can’t show the real effect, but live it seems to have a deph effect and the image looks better than that, even while having only 96×128 pixels.
It’s still not a end user product, and real applications (such as a digital photo frame) are still being considered… but interesting anyways!
