I’m relatively new to the world of professional photography, so here’s something I had never heard of ’till today: A Nikon lens that works as a portable stereoscopic microscope.

Nikon Fabre Photo EX
Dunno if the whole idea is new, but those lenses are.
How’s 66x magnification for macro?

Archon Ultra was this very interesting DOS game that mixed a bit of fighting action with… chess!

It’s a very unique game style that could use a new version… which seems to be coming soon.
Anyways, it worked like this: Your chess pieces were creatures.
I can’t remember very well, but I guess you’d play it like a normal chess game (maybe there was other game types, not shure).
The difference was when there was an encounter between pieces. When that happened, the game would zoom in a battle zone where the pieces were to fight each other.
An interesting twist to a regular chess game. And since the pieces would be more powerful as the importance (or moving types) were greater, it still is like a balanced game between chess strategy and fighting game skills.
Very interesting stuff… I think I might still have the original CD with the game. Or whatever it was.
About the upcoming new version of Archon, check Kotaku for more info.

And it’s also very easy to install them!
Just point your Chrome to the Google Themes page, choose whichever you like, and push the button! As simple as that!

Long long time ago I wrote about Tenori-on… but I can’t find the post so I’m assuming it was in some other blog.

Created by Toshio Iwai from Yamaha, it’s basically a button pad instrument like synth thinguie.

This add for the WaterCar is so cheesy I don’t even know if they were joking or if it’s a serious thing… but anyways, here’s the WaterCar:

I was hoping that by the end, the guy would step on the gas making all those gals fall in the lake, but it didn’t happen sadly…

There’s a “new” movement with movies produced on a budget released on the Internet that’s clearly maturing and producing interesting results. Like Jarrett Lee Conaway’s new short movie called “Turbo”.

Turbo
It’s a bit of gaming, with Street Fighter (NOT THE MOVIE) and virtual reality with futuristic settings and special effects.

It’s been a while since last I saw such an interesting looking idea for a fighting game… specially one with a horror theme.
Watch the trailer for argentininan developer Andrés Borghi’s The Black Heart:

It’s appropriately set to be released on Halloween (31/10/09), free for download, being in development for 7 years!
I love the character names!
Keep an eye on it at The Black Heart official website!
