Qualcomm – Mirasol Color Passive Display
Qualcomm showed up at IntoMobile event with this interesting new piece of technology regarding passive displays (think eBook readers):
It’s basically a color display that requires no backlighting and has a 30fps refresh rate.
I dunno much about it, and there are several questions to be solved before becoming a product… but if they can make this thing cheap, big, and with good resolution, this might be the end of monocromatic, lag-ish and dull eBook readers.
It’s really a breakthrough over several passive display problems!
