Yuri Suzuki and Masa Kimura are going to create a rude goldberg breakfast machine at the Platform21 event, a design platform held in Amsterdam.

They are asking for participants help to create the whole thing from 16 to 24 September, using past Platform21 projects… pretty neat idea!

I guess all gamers from the 16bit era already played or at least heard of ToeJam & Earl…
An isometric perspective adventure game with aliens, presents and weird earthling as enemies.
Plus a bonus 16bit funk composing tool!

ToeJam & Earl was and probably still is unique.
I remember playing it a lot with friends on the very first game rental store that had recently opened back in my hometown.
And when I finally got a Sega Genesis at home, I played it until finally recovering all the ship’s pieces… yes, I can say I played it A LOT.
It’s a game filled with jokes and funny ironical characters.
Crazy doctors, pigs inside bubbles, rocket shoes Santa Claus, Boogieman, men dressed as carrots, magicians… and then the items. Rocket shoes, boring books, boomboxes, spring shoes, rainy clouds and lots others.
Anyways, I could write pages about the game, but I guess you’d have to play it to fully understand…

I don’t know how the authors are planning to avoid lawsuits from Sega, but as a fan made project I’d have to say it’s pretty good.
I’m hoping Sega will have a different standpoint from most corporations, and even support this, though highly unlikely…

As an avid consumer, I always admit liking Shopping Centers and Shopping Malls (though it usually isn’t very cool for a male to say that), mainly for gadgets, libraries and food courts.
But I also think most of them, on the outside are very very boring, making cities look ugly, usually being an insipid huge block of concrete crowded with tons of ugly billboards.

Vulcano Buono is an exception though! Located close to Mt. Vesuvius, in Naples – Italy, it’s both beautiful, green, architecturally interesting and a historical reference altogether!
