Combo – Blu and David Ellis

Long time ago I made a post about the awesome stop motion graffiti art by an artist named Blu.
This post is about a new stop motion collaboration with Blu and David Ellis named Combo:

Really impressive! I truly believe that people like Blu are the ones keeping the true concept of art alive these days.
Probably takes days, if not weeks, of painstacking and sometimes dangerous work to accomplish a video like that.

Korg DS-10 – Daft Punk

I’m still a bit saddened with what Kanye West did to Daft Punk’s Harder Better Faster Stronger, but here’s a proper tribute:

Denkitribe used Nintendo DS’s Korg DS-10 synth to create from scratch the voices on the music.
Of course it’s not as clear as the original, but again, those are NOT recorded voices… they were created WITH the synth! :D

Phoenix’s Instant Boot BIOS

If sometime ago we complained about how despite every hardware in a computer was being upgraded fast, but floppy disks were a thing of the past, today that problem is solved with pendrives and recordable media.
But there’s still one thing that had minor changes through all computer history: The BIOS.

It became so common that we computer users already accepted as a common thing to turn a computer on, and do something else while it boot, because it always takes a LOOONG time.
Enter Phoenix’s new BIOS based on UEFI technology.
The boot up takes about a second, and the whole process with Windows 7 load time takes about 11 seconds total!
This is, of course, with a fresh install without a bunch of spyware and boot loading software.. but still, pretty nice for a Windows PC!
Also, Phoenix says it’s possible to make that process even faster if the BIOS is customized for each specific PC… so I’m truly hoping manufacturers will adopt this.

Alexis Bauer – How to Work a Crowd

The Ignite Show is an interesting proposal to give 5 minutes presentations (one slide every 15 seconds, clocked) from different people around the world on several different topics.

This one is from Alexis Bauer, talking a bit about how to start conversations with strangers and work a crowd by making subject clusters… very interesting!

iPhone ARider

That the iPhone is a big platform for modders and is spamming a huge amount of useless… speaker mounts, tripods, and useless acessories I’m already aware.
But sometimes it gets ridiculous!

The iPhone ARider is a bike helmet mount with HUD display to help you navigate using the iPhone’s GPS.
I imagine though, having a standard GPS mount on your bike handle would be a far better solution, and it probably wouldn’t be as accident prone as having a HUD popping in front of your eyes… but maybe it’s just me.
Nonetheless, I’ll wait for helmets with Augmented Reality visors.
