What you’ll see on this video is a remote controlled beetle:

As in, a REAL beetle, not a toy one! o_O

Weird “feature” accomplished by installing a radio controlled electrode that emits signals directly to the beetle’s optic lobe.

The project, from electrical engineers led by Hirotaka Sato of the University of California, Berkeley, is interesting and all… if you wanna know more about it, go to ScienceBlog’s Neurophilosophy post about the Flight of the Remote Controlled Cyborg Beetle.
But seeing as there were already other similar projects funded by the military (DARPA), I kinda fear for the sake of animals in the future.
I’m not a radical animal lover nutcase, but still… DARPA, STAY THE F*** AWAY FROM MY CUTE CATS AND DOGS!
