Time Lapse Videos – Station Fire, Angeles National Forest
The Station Fire in Los Angeles, California is deemed to be the worst wildfire case in Los Angeles history.
Took lots of forest and lots of people’s houses, covered the sky in smoke and dust, and worst of all: Is probably a case of arson.
It’s indeed a catastrophe, and I feel sad for those affected by it.
But I couldn’t avoid watching time lapse videos of the fire and finding them beautiful… so I decided to share them:

“Angeles Crest fires have taken over 100,00 thousand acres of forest and homes. This is a small video clip of some time lapse photography taken by August Young. ”
It’s absolutely not my intention to justify what the criminal did, but watching the fire at night spread and it’s flames engulfing things is somewhat enchanting…

“The Station fire North of Los Angeles on 8/29/2009; 7:00pm tp 9:30pm.
Shot from Mulhulland Dr. just South of Universal Studios, with a Canon EOS 20D, 17-35mm 2.8 lens…full wide, and in “P” exposure mode.”
You know, just like watching Mythbusters explosion videos. Sadly, in this case, not in a controlled environment.

“The sun sets, the fire grows.
Station fire time lapse shot 8/31 as day lapsed into evening. You’ll see both the pattern of smoke and the growth/change in the path of the fire.
Looks almost innocent at first, but then all hell breaks loose. ”
Which is exactly why people shouldn’t try dangerous experiments without taking all the needed precautions plus some more.
But I completely went off topic here.

I heard 2 firefighters lost their lives at the Station Fire… may they rest in peace, and I hope there were no other casualities.
