Anime Discussion: Noein
Brace yourselves for this Anime Discussion title, for it’s Noein.
And the plot is thick with references that needs further research for understanding! ![]()
The Anime Discussion series is centered on animes that leads to discussions and has thought provoking content, aimed mainly for adults.
Both to serve as recommendation, and to show animes are not “for kids only”.
Noein follows the stories of characters from different places in time.
The main character Haruka, and her childhood friend Yu are somehow connected to Karasu, a team member that came from a future that’s being destroyed in conflict with a parallel world.
It’s a sci-fi story with plenty of action, but that has some technical stuff on the mix.
Basically, the story floats around a couple of theories on Quantum Physics.
The art style is a bit different from the usual, with extreme perspectives and lots of speed lines… so it might look a bit awkward at first, but nothing to worry about. There’s also a slight mix of 3D rendered stuff.
The plot also has some very unique characters, with some interesting twists and turns.
It doesn’t actually get too technical, but still has some things that are based on actual theories, which is pretty interesting.
Among those ideas and theories, is the one that says time splits in many branches, with infinite possibilities for the future.
Haruka has a part on this, along with Karasu and Yu, who will meet several people from the present and future.
I can’t say anything else on the risk of spoiling key elements of the anime, but I recommend this one for those who like action animes, and for those who are curious about quantum physics and it’s theories related to space time relationship.
Action and sci-fi apart, the anime is also about human relationship, choices and sacrifices, and the discussion of ideas like destiny.
