CRISTAL – Control of Remotely Interaced Systems using Touch-based Actions in Living spaces
Or: A fancy projector based universal desk remote control.
Problem is, as most complex advanced remote controls: It’ll cost more than you can afford. ![]()
Right now, it seems to be costing only $10,000-15,000 (HA HA HA), though the creators are saying the price will get lower.
As for me, I’m quitting projector based touchscreen solutions like this one, Microsoft Surface and others.
They are too big, too clumsy, will end up filled with hand grease and germs, giving you a back pain and in this case, it’ll also interfere with watching the movie.
What I suggest is: Project Natal + Mod
You get home late at night, and then enter your room.
And thou shall say: LET THERE BE LIGHT!!!
And there will be light.
And thou shall see the light, and say it is good…
…or you could make it brighter or dimmer with some hand gestures.
“It is too damn hot in here… LET THERE BE AIR CONDITIONING!”
And there will be air conditioning.
And your electric bill shall rise and rise.
And then you will say: LET THERE BE GORGEOUS LUCIOUS WOMEN!
And there shall be no women.
And you shall feel depressed.
But will conform that thou hast done an interesting mod.
And then you shall proceed to fap and go to sleep.
