Yeah, I also don’t understand zilt, but if you watched any of the Makoto Shinkai works (Voices from a Distant Star, 5cm per Second, The Place Promised in Our Early Days), you’ll notice several similarities on this Taisei TV construction ad:

Seems it was not produced by Makoto himself, but maybe his production staff gave some help, maybe Taisei TV got some really competent “copiers”. xD

A watch made for the sake of gadgetry (because it’s obviously pointless in a humorous way, but absolutely awesome nonetheless), using a bunch of spare parts (like a CD-Rom drive motor) AND also killing the whole “beautiful women can’t be geeks” stereotype.
