Turbulence.org has this neat Java Chess game that allows you to visualize how the computer evaluates it’s next move.

Of course it’s extremely slowed down, since a computer can evaluate thousands of moves in a fraction of a second, but it’s interesting to see just how many moves are tested before the move is done.
