Bubblegum Crisis Live Action Movie
…this time it’s Bubblegum Crisis!
Annoucement made by Singaporean company Axxis
Will be a mix of live-action with computer graphics (CGs)… and it’s currently in pre-production stage.
AIC, the company responsible for the production of the anime series also announced that they signed a basic agreement with Singapore’s Cubix International PTE Ltd. for the remake project on October 30.
Not much more info on it is known, but it seems that in May this year, Axxis announced that they were making “four live-action/computer-generated feature films valued at over US$135 million” at Cannes Film Festival.

Newer anime fans might not know Bubblegum Crisis, but it’s a classic… one of the first titles I had contact with when I became addicted to animes.
Name is kinda weird, but the anime actually has a post-apocaliptic cyberpunk scenario.

This was an influential anime for many of us out there in TV land. It’s easy to be a skeptic about something like this, but I’m actually optimistic that it’s being made overseas instead of in the States (complicated reasons) AND Kenichi Sonada & others are involved in an advisory capacity (YES!). Anyway, heres a much BIGGER teaser picture:
