Taiiku no Hi and Wakaba Matsuri: Wakaba Taiko
Took me some time, but I finally made the post. This is my motto. ![]()
Pics from Wakaba taiko group at Wakaba Matsuri.
A well organized group playing very well, including beginners who had less than a year of practice!
I always had interest, but dunno if I have enough coordination for that. Unfortunately there are so many things I want to do nowadays that learning taiko would be kinda hard…
But I had lots of fun with Taiko no Tatsujin game… one of these days I make a topic about it.
Wakaba group presentation was split in different musics, with groups with different levels of experience.
It was very interesting to watch. I never had made the assosciation of taiko with martial arts… ’till this presentation.
Makes perfect sense. Taiko is a percussion instrument that is played sometimes in large groups (like you can see in the pics).
How you make everyone play with precision, at the right rhythm, without errors and with a consistent strength?
Only with lots of training and discipline equal to an martial artist.. ![]()
Very nice presentation really. One of the best taiko presentations I’ve ever watched, which also contributed to make the event better.
Congratulations to the Wakaba group!
