Japan Park – Curitiba
Last Sunday I was kinda tired of staying at home all day long…
… so I decided to go to a japanese “park” that went through a reformulation recently.
Japan Park is a small park here in Curitiba where… at least up ’till this last reformulation… people made mini-matsuris.
Mini-matsuris are basically small fairs with japanese food that happened every couple of months.
All the local otakus gathered.
It’s about half and hour walking from where I live (Downtown), in a fancy Curitiba neighborhood (Batel).
Very pleasant place, and it’s curiously surrounded by tall buildings… like an island in the middle of the city.
I miscalculated the time to leave home, so I got there with the sun almost down… which didn’t give me a proper lighting for the pics.
The park was reopened just recently… it went through a reformulation this year, part of the stuff that were made to celebrate 100 years of japanese immigration in Brazil.
When I was plannign on moving to Curitiba, I tried to find an appartment closer to that park.
Despite being farther from the bus station and airport, it’d be closer to the University, the place where I take swimming classes, and from some friends places.
But the real state value was too expensive, and I couldn’t afford it. Fancy stores, the night life and shoppings with expensive brand names and stuff are all there.
Next time a mini-matsuri takes place… if they continue allowing that those happen in the park (could trash the place up), I’ll take more pics of the park, and the food.
