Today’s figure is Rakka:

From Haibane Renmei anime, Rakka is the protagonist of this very different anime.
Yoshitoshi Abe’s fans will know how different the anime is only knowing he’s the design character for this one.
Some examples of other animes he worked in: Serial Experiments Lain, NieA_7 and Texhnolyze.

Haibane Renmei tells the story of a girl that dreams he’s falling from the sky…
She wakes up, no memories from the past, inside a cocoon (actually more like a huge egg) inside a bedroom in a city surrounded by high impenetrable walls, where seemingly, all habitants had some sort of strange arrival just like hers.

It’s a very different anime… with a plot that for some is original and compelling, for some others kinda boring because it is very slow-paced, about the everyday life of the characters (obviously I’m part of the first crowd).

EDIT: I almost forgot… fans of the anime frequently describe it as “an animated piece of art”. Pay attention to the scenery. Maybe that’s why the figure is kinda different… resembles a small statue.
